Material and care
The Goldstream fire basket is made of corten steel and is supplied in an unrusted finish. Once placed outdoors, a natural rust layer will develop over time. Depending on the weather and surrounding conditions, each steel fire basket will form its own distinctive brown orange patina.
Corten steel is durable and made from a unique metal alloy. This combination of metals creates a dense oxidation layer that protects the material. Its strength is comparable to stainless steel, ensuring long lasting enjoyment of this robust fire basket.
The Goldstream fire basket requires minimal maintenance. The natural rusting process forms a protective layer on the steel. Place the fire basket in a location where it can dry quickly after rainfall. Remove wet leaves from the basket to help prevent accelerated corrosion.
Please note that corten steel may leave rust marks on the surface beneath it.
